Lan H. Reilly is a self-taught artist and children's author whose books encourage young readers to explore creativity, learning, and imagination. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, she spent most of her childhood there before being evacuated with her family from the U.S. Embassy in 1975 and settling in Wisconsin.

 

Lan later earned an Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After meeting her husband while working in Minneapolis, she relocated to Michigan, where they raised three children and one land 'seal,' an English Setter. Her background as both an artist and engineer gives her children's books a distinctive blend of color, curiosity, structure, and play.
